Young adult entering 'Jordan year' probably not going to accomplish much

Turning 23 is an adjustment. While the initial realization is one of inching toward not being comfortably in one's early twenties anymore, this is not the only factor that puts pressure on an individual's ability to succeed. In fact, there's one much more important — as his jersey number indicates, turning 23 means entering the "Jordan year."

Living up to one of the greatest athletes of all time is no small feat. Luckily for birthday girl Teresa Blug, there's little risk of disappointment. Not because she's that great, but because she's unlikely to put in enough effort to care what happens at her new age.

"Life is moving so fast. People my age are starting to work real adult jobs, get married, and have kids on purpose. Don't they still need to ask their parents first?" asked Blug.

Though initially coming across as a joke, there is a non-zero chance that the college graduate's question was genuine.

"This past Saturday, I woke up at noon and bought myself a new water gun because the super soaking technology is better than in the ones I already own. Unlike most people over the age of 12, I never got the memo that we're supposed to pretend they're not fun even though they so obviously are — objectively," acknowledged Blug.

While the administrative assistant plans to continue working to pay bills, seeing friends, and just "generally vibing," there's one thing she won't do in her 23rd year — anything else.

"I mean, I don't know. What should I be doing? Do you want me to go to space? Do you want me to start a basic retirement plan? Ha, that's a laugh," expressed Blug. "I may not have much in the way of goals or motivation, but you know what I do have? A bologna sandwich in the refrigerator that's just for me."

In just a few hours, Blug will be blow out the candles on her birthday cake and make a wish. An opportunity many use to ask the universe for wealth or recognition, she will not find herself let down — most likely because she'll just wish for cake.
